Program Evaluation
|
The programevaluation.org site was designed and developed by the New York State Teacher Center Evaluation and Strategy Committee under the leadership of Isabel Pickett. Dr. Seth Aldrich and Jim Wright served as evaluation consultants throughout the development of the site with the assistance of Larrilee Jemiola, a member of the Evaluation and Strategy Committee. Karen Mack currently serves as the webmaster for programevaluation.org. The site will continue to evolve as needs and new support materials are identified. HISTORY In the mid nineties, the Long Island Network of Centers (LINC) began to focus its professional development on program evaluation as a result of a needs assessment distributed to all center directors on Long Island. LINC asked Dr. Seth Aldrich and Jim Wright to assist its members in learning more about program evaluation. The original materials for their work on Long Island became the foundation for www.programevaluation.org. Since evaluation was a major responsibility of the Evaluation and Strategy Advisory Committee, and because the statewide evaluations revealed that most Directors considered program evaluation the biggest challenge in the operations of their centers, the Evaluation and Strategy Committee folded the early work from LINC into the concept of a web site for program evaluation to support teacher centers across the state; thus www.programevaluation.org was born.
