Focus on teacher objectives: Curriculum Based Assessment (CBA)
The objectives for the following training involve successful teacher
implementation of Curriculum Based Assessment (CBA), an assessment
technique that formatively assesses basic skills in reading written
expression and math. Rather than focusing on student objectives, the
focus on this staff development is on teachers' implementation of a new
skill in their classrooms.

Based on information from the Planner, the course instructor develops
the Staff Development Impact Survey:

Supporting Assessment and documentation of impact:
Curriculum Based Assessment: Teachers rating their own follow
through with the prescribed assessment procedures.
This example shows how 'task analysis guides' can be created so that
those implementing what they learned can check how they did according to
the procedures taught in the course. These guides would typically be
developed by the course instructor.

This self assessment checklist can be used 1) during training to give
participants feedback on their performance on course objectives, 2) to
prompt the course participant to follow through with key steps to the
training during implementation, and 3) to provide feedback to the
trainer on how well the objectives were realized during implementation.
The course participant can use the results of the assessment when rating
the Survey Likert items on following standardized administration
procedures.
