A sub-committee
of the New York State Teacher Center
Evaluation and Strategy Committee spent one
year converting the Teacher Center
Standards, developed several years earlier
by the Evaluation and Strategy Committee,
into rubrics. Using a template
designed for
Giselle Martin-Kneip’s “Communities for
Learning”
http://www.communitiesforlearning.org
and tools crafted by teacher centers across
the state, the rubrics were designed to give
policy boards and teacher center staff
another instrument to use in centers’
continuous quest for excellence in
developing high quality professional
development. The rubrics can be used to
complete an End of Year evaluation, an End
of Year Self-Study, or as a guide for the
operation of a teacher center.
